Homemaker Monday {4.14.2014}

homemaker monday large We are coming off of a very busy Spring Break.  We weren't able to go anywhere with it being super busy at my husbands work.  But the kids and I had a pretty good time with what we were able to do.  It happened to be a beautiful week.  We were able to play outside a lot.  Which after this long winter, was wonderful.   We visited both sets of grandparents and a few aunts and uncles.  Baked lots of goodies. Watched lots of movies at night.  It's been great not having a to be anywhere at specific time, but it's also nice knowing there will be a routine getting back into play.  The twins really need that back!

Thank you to all who ordered on my 'Oops Sale"!  It was fun shipping off goodies to all of you!!  There are a few things left in the sale section if you are looking for something.  :)

Highlight of the past weekend:

I FINALLY got to see my new nephew!!!!  He is six weeks old and I'm the last aunt to see him :(.  We had the flu the week/weekend they were visiting, so we never got over to see the new little man.  I really cried about this!  We visited with my sister and brother-in-law this weekend.  My husband and the boys went to watch the Indiana High School Basketball State Finals in Indianapolis, while we girls had a 'girl' day.  Nail painting and singing to Frozen and all. :)  The boys were all so excited that their team and alma mater, Marquette Catholic High School, won in overtime.   It was fun seeing how much fun the boys had with daddy.

 If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart.

What I keep telling myself every, single time someone mentions I have my hands full when I am shopping with my kids.  I do have my hands full.  But I wouldn't trade any single moment of it.  I live for the chaos.

Have a great week!!

Highlight of the past weekend:

Worked on some special Easter baskets for my nieces and nephews.  And another little treat.  I actually got to go to Target by myself.  That is UNHEARD of in this house.  It was nice to be able to shop and have my thoughts all together.  But I still stand by my saying that Target is the devil!  Spent way more than I needed too.  All though in my defence most of it was in diapers and baby items to get their promotion discount.

 From my link up with Naptime Diaries & Tiny Twig for the their hashtag "Friday Introductions."  This weeks prompt was What is your passion?

My passions: the obvious are my hubby, kids and family. Another one is agriculture. I come from a farming family. I loved being able to help out when I was younger and wish I could do more now. It was something that has helped shaped who I am. I pray I am able to pass some of my love of the land on to my little ones and teach them about the hard work, dedication and respect that goes with being a farmer. What are your passions?

Homemaker Monday {3.3.2014}

Happy Monday!  Again!  Wow!  One more month done in 2014.  We are well on our way into the year.  Currently, though, it is looking like spring is going to be napping a little while longer.  We just received another generous dusting of the fluffy white stuff this weekend.  On the plus side.  It's March!  It is getting closer to warmer weather and flowers and singing birds and beautiful colors.  Lent starts this week.  I am looking forward to this time of prayer and reflection.

Highlight of the past weekend:

Getting some things done on DIY projects.  My husband sanded our kitchen table so I could restrain it.  It is going to look so nice.  Now the task of finding some new chairs to go with it that won't cost and arm & a leg.  I also got a dresser primed and ready to paint.  I just need to pick out a color scheme for it.  Any ideas welcome!  Like to see what we were doing??  Follow me on instagram @AddyLouCreates.

Sunday's Gospel is going to be my mantra for the week.  It's funny how things like this come up right when you need the comfort too.

I wish you all a wonderful week.  I've got some special posts and plans coming up over the next few weeks.  Get excited.  I am! :)

Homemaker Monday {2/17/2014}

Happy Monday...eerrr Wednesday.  This week has been crazy and its only just Wednesday..  Every time I sit down to compose thoughts something has happened...as has been the case today as well.   The weather: On Monday we had another snowstorm.  It dropped a few inches in a very short amount of time.  I ended up going in to pick up L because all the other schools around us let out early in anticipation for the snow.  This week looks like the weather is just going to be all over the place.

 On my reading pile: Blog notes and how-to’s, menu planning, budgeting blogs – LOTS of information to take in!!!!

 On my TV: Monster's University....the kids are sleeping instead of watching.

On the menu for this week:  We’ve been trying to get a better healthy dinner routine down.  I’ve been following the Skinny Moms ‘Supper Club.‘  We pick and choose due to our schedule, picky kids and what I have on hand.  So far we’ve liked what things I have made.  Here is what we are eating this week.

Monday – Leftover Chicken Tortellini Soup

Tuesday – Turkey Burgers

Wednesday – Beef Stroganoff

Thursday – Blackened Salmon & French Country Salad

Friday – Order out...or leftovers

Saturday – Leftovers

Sunday – Unsure yet

 On my to do list: Workout, Fold the three baskets of clothes that I washed on Sunday, Get to the doctor for my sinus issues (a recheck-up) and to go over the CT scan I had a few weeks ago, get some freezer breakfast meals done.

 AddyLou projects for the week:  Birthday Shirts, Bibs and getting rid of my scrap pile, organizing my work space

 What I am cooking: Nothing currently

 Looking around the house: I need to clean the kitchen again, and fold clothes.

 Highlight of the past weekend: My sister had her third, healthy baby!  So excited to meet my newest nephew.  Got to go on a date night.  We ate at Pikks Tavern in Valpo for the first time. It was very good.  I love the little restaurant/bar type of places.  And it was nice to get out and feel like an adult.  I was also able to do a little shopping on Sunday by myself while the kids went sledding with daddy.
